II believe this is the parter's stuff.

Sounds very interesting. Perique processed VAs.

Just got some AP from Pipesandcigars and it was pipe cut. I was hoping for shag, but it's still excellent. SJ is on tap for the next order.

I've always gotten pipe cut with the bags and even the tub of AB. Picayune was a fine shag and I really would have liked it pipe cut. I've yet to try the AP or SJ; I'm sure I get around to it some time!

I have received GR, AB and SJ in the last few months and the only pipe cut was SJ. The last time was two 14 oz bags of SJ just a month ago.

I just learned this is now shag cut from member Puff.

I didn't realize. And will certainly try.

I notice this isn't reflected on the DR brands description whichdoes indicate Stti Shag Cut for 3S and Ryaback.

Does anyone know if all the Rimboche tobaccos are shag cut?

Better yet, is there a comprehensive listing of which D&R pipe tobaccos are staying in shag cut? There's Ryback (and RyGold), Three Sails and A.B. Rimboche -- any others?

Imagine my surprise today to open latest purchase Trisha's Cafe and find that the A.B. Rimboche was shag cut! Not a bad surprise, but totally unexpected as I am a big Rimboche fan and have tried the other two which are both pipe cut.

EDIT: For the last few months. Both AB and GR are shag cut with SJ being the only pipe cut in the lot.

I've only had the Vengeur pipe cut so far but don't see why AB should be any different for ease of stuffing. The more I smoke AB the more impressed I am with it. I was afraid this one would get old after a while but it's having the opposite effect. Rarely am I not in the mood for some Latakia nowadays.

There are a few advantages to the new pipe cut that I'm surprised noone seems to be talking about; freshness, durable smokes and less shake. The thicker cuts will stay hydrated or "fresh" quite a bit longer and there should be a marked reduction in shake (we should be getting a S-CHIP credit for shake lost to each lb as it is anyhow). What I mean by durable is that our smokes shouldn't settle nor spill baccy out the end quite as much which can be a bit of a nuisance after a long/active day.
